World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players increase the gear rating of an item by up 700 points, and then give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't change much after an upgrade and aren't worth the effort.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. A lot of weapons also come with a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a group. This bonus could be more than the damage that an upgrade alone can cause.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the gun will increase until it needs more Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a good factor, but it could also have negative consequences. Upgrades can render items impossible to use, unless you are very lucky.
Armor items can also be upgraded to increase their stats. This will increase the defense base of a helm or chest while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. item upgrades has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to reroll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats that it will get when upgraded in addition to their relative values. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in the weapon gaining 3% of attack damage. However the 3% does not mean that it will hit 3 times less often because it's an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button, which is accompanied by circular arrows within the menu for items. This will reroll an item and alter its stats but not reset the weapon's levels, or bind it to account status.
Armor
A few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference to your survivability. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, making the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. The more defense your character has, the more value you will get out of each point of health you have and it's crucial to upgrade your armor as often as you can.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and in order to unlock each one you must complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor is different. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand an entire raid with a few friends.
You can't upgrade your armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or spell power. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use for the final boss battle and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have a few upgrades of the chest armor and helmets that permit you to sneak past certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, give the player with a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be obtained by crafting them on a crafting table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion used and the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI which allows you to choose the potion that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll give you when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP level.
Once a poton is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate until you take it out again or break the bottle in the container it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the mechanism of potions. For example the splash potions now have the duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item). The table for potion can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It is now able to be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be mixed in cauldrons. The same is true for the use of a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will drain the potion, and refill the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions, which are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It may also refer to an object or ornament that serves a function but is not particularly important such as a thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to express affection or friendship between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons, armor, and potions. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded can be traded at will without losing statistics.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens, or fragments from a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It is possible to upgrade a player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl of the older one, and come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Once the old Trinkets are no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players and are an extremely popular alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other items of gear they will not be replacing in the near future (for instance, a ring or cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when choosing the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm and shoulders.
Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they no longer have value, and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it can be salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying a new one.
